I don't have much information on this other than my own experience. I would be more careful who you accept files from on your PS2...that's the only way to avoid it.l

You can erase a corrupt file on a memorycard by formatting thememory card, not only the file. It will stay corrupt unless you format the card. All of the other data will be lost unless you copy it to another card.

I purchased a used copy of "Extermination" for my Playstation 2 from GameStop.com.
I get the PS2 logo, a screen explaining the game contains violence and gore, then nothing. Is the game totally useless?

If playstation 2 is game compatible with ps1, why won't it play my ps1 game?
I do have a very old playstation 2, I think I got it not too long after it came out, and I know I played ps1 games on it before, but now that I have another ps1 game, it won't play it. The game is used, but there's next no scratches on it, and definitely not any deep, worrisome ones. I have a feeling it's because my ps2 is old and needs replaced, but I figured I'd get some opinions.
